Dear Delegates,
On behalf of LES Singapore, we welcome all of you to the first virtual LES Asia Pacific Conference 2020.
When LES Singapore was first selected to host this event, we were planning for an in-person event and were excited to welcome all our visitors to the sunny shores of Singapore. We were looking forward to meeting everyone and showing you some of our famous sights, delectable cuisine and diverse culture.
Due to Covid-19, we had to change it to a fully virtual event. Nevertheless, every cloud has a silver lining.
Being a virtual event, we are able to invite more participants, all the LES members worldwide and other visitors to join us online to take part in this exciting event.
We have gathered a good spread of speakers and panelist to share and discuss the cutting edge topics of the day relating to Licensing and Intellectual Property rights. Our theme of “Licensing in the Age of Innovation : The Asia Pacific story” seeks to draw on the challenges that we all face in this uncertain times. This has led to efforts made to adopt innovative ideas to meet the challenges. However, innovative ideas per se are not enough. It requires commercial acumen to translate such innovative ideas to business success and the role of licensing of the rights. This conference will seek to explore these issues and we hope that you will find the sessions engaging and informative.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all who have volunteered their time to organize, speak and participate in this conference. We at LES Singapore truly appreciate all your invaluable efforts. I hope to be able to meet all attendees in person one day after this crisis is over. In the meantime, please stay safe and enjoy the conference!

About Licensing Executives Society International
Founded in 1972, and incorporated in 2000, LES International (LESI) is the umbrella organization of national and regional associations for licensing executives. A Board of Directors and Board of Delegates, consisting of representatives of all national and regional societies, oversee the activities of LESI.

Celebrating Licensing Executives Society Singapore 21st Anniversary
The Society had its beginnings as the Licensing Society (Singapore) (LSS) which was officially launched at the Licensing Asia 1999 Conference on 6 November 1999. LSS was admitted as a member of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) in May 2000 and the Society was renamed as Licensing Executives Society (Singapore).
